INTERVIEW AT THE «NASEKOMIH» FESTIVAL

a 12 hour long musical festival under the name of «nasekomih style music» has taken place in «front», one of the clubs of st.-petersburg recently. «nasekomih» project — is a collaboration of different creative individuals and groups aimed at promotion of musicians, poets, and artists not known to the general public. these interesting people and their work can be observed during the series of «nasekomih» festivals. this time we introduce to you the band aztec.
the band was initially formed in dec.1997, bringing the present members together by 2001 with the arrival of the new drummer. its style being positive funk. what this band plays is so professional and so fresh that one’s hair stands on end. aztec consists of three participants: andrey on vocals and guitar, oleg on vocals and bass guitar, and yan on percussion.
— what does the idea of music mean to you?
oleg: i believe that all bands can be divided into two categories: the ones where music exists and the ones where it doesn’t without any connection to whether the musicians produce any sounds or not. there either are feelings and drive or they are not!
